Class of 2013 Offered $4.13 Million in Scholarships – This outstanding class was offered this amount in merit scholarships from colleges and universities.

Panthers Win Five Section Championships – SA teams claimed the section title in boys’ golf, boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer, girls’ tennis, and boys’ tennis.

Local Police & Fire Departments Benefit from Pancake Breakfast – The Academy hosted more than 120 guests at the fifth annual Pancake Breakfast that raised $716 to support our local police and fire departments.

Summerbridge Success Stories - 80% of Summerbridge Pittsburgh’s freshman class is currently attending a college-preparatory high school.

New Global Exchanges – This year, the Academy launched new exchanges with the Colegio de Santa Maria in Costa Rica and the First School of Changsha in China.

SA Named One of Pittsburgh’s Top Workplaces Sewickley Academy was named one of the best places to work in Pittsburgh by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and WorkplaceDynamics. The Academy was the only independent school to be recognized on the list.

Start Here, Go Anywhere – 92% of seniors were admitted to one of their top-choice colleges.

Secret Garden Awarded Whole Kids Foundation Grant – A $2,000 grant from the Whole Kids Foundation Garden Grant Project was awarded to SA’s Secret Garden. The grant funded two fruit trees, garden beds, two rain barrels, and picnic tables to allow the Secret Garden to become a true outdoor classroom and community center.

Auction a Smashing Success – The “What Makes YOU Tick?” Annual Auction raised $440,574 for our school.

Over and Above – The SAT average for the Classes of 2010-2013 is 1918 on the 2400 scale. This is 418 points above the national SAT average!

6,400 Hours of Service Contributed in Single Day – On the second annual Day of Service, more than 800 students, faculty, and staff participated in 22 service projects across the region.

Ephemera Receives National Award – In addition to being awarded a silver ranking from the Pennsylvania Scholastic Press Association (PSPA), the 2012 Senior School arts magazine earned a rating of Excellent from the National Council of Teachers of English, as well as the First Place with Special Merit designation from the American Scholastic Press Association.

Inspiring Tomorrow’s Teachers –73% of Summberbridge Pittsburgh teachers had an increased desire to pursue a career in the field of education after teaching in the SB Program.

Musicians Shine at Adjudicated Festival – At the Music in the Parks Festival, the Lower School orchestra earned a superior rating on its performance, and the Middle and Senior School orchestra earned a rating of Superior First Place and First Place Overall. The Senior School chorus earned a third place Excellent rating.

59th Annual Clothesline Sale Raises $127,005 – Home & School volunteers’ tireless efforts resulted in a record-breaking amount of funds to support the school.

Boys’ Tennis Claims 10th-Straight WPIAL Title – The team’s outstanding season included an 18-4 record, a WPIAL Championship, and a semifinal appearance in the PIAA Tournament.

Band Wins Spirit of Nashville Award – The Middle and Senior School band was awarded the Spirit of Nashville Award at the WorldStrides Heritage Performance Festival for its respectful representation of SA, and the students’ friendly and courteous behavior throughout the weekend. The band also earned a Silver Award for its performance.
