A Message from the Chair of the Board

Dear SA Community and Friends,

Our past school year proved to be exciting. As the 2014-2015 year began, we celebrated the rededication of the newly renovated, state-of-the-art science facility, the Oliver Building. In addition, our board voted unanimously to undertake the final phase of our strategic plan with the construction of the Events Center. We broke ground in March, and the project is well underway as we continue the campaign to wholly fund the project. Community is the underpinning of our campus, and having an inclusive facility where our entire campus can gather strengthens our programs, mission, and educational goals.

As the year progressed we cheered on our various athletic teams to wins in section, WPIAL and state championships. Our girls and boys golf, tennis, and soccer teams excelled, and our girls softball team won their very first section title in SA history! Throughout the year, our arts program supported our students’ pursuit of excellence in orchestra and band, musical and dramatic performances, and the studio arts. The Global Education Program supported students’ endeavors in broadening their local and global perspectives through classes, travel, and student led fundraisers. And, of course, our dedicated faculty continued to deliver academic programs that ensure our students have the foundation and inspiration to excel at SA and beyond.

But, none of this is possible without your support.

Whether you’re contributing to and volunteering at events like the Clothesline Sale, the auction, and the teacher appreciation luncheon, or dedicating your time in homerooms, the library, the Snack Shack or behind stage, none of what we achieve would be possible without you. Your contributions to the Capital Campaign, the Annual Fund, and scholarship funds support our ability to keep our promise to you.

The board joins me in saying “Thank You” to each and every member of our community, parents, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends for all that you give to Sewickley Academy – trust, time, engagement, financial contributions, talent, and teamwork. We couldn’t do it without you.

Thank You!
