The Sewickley Academy Home and School Association supports our school with the immense help of our dedicated parent community who give their time, energy, and effort to make so much happen. We sponsor many school events and programs, and provide funding and grants, which are all made possible through our fundraising efforts.

Our 62nd Annual Clothesline and Used Book Sale raised $92,736. This incredible amount of money directly benefits Sewickley Academy’s students and faculty. Throughout the school year, other fundraising efforts include Scholastic Book Fairs, School Picture Day, and Kennywood Day.

During the 2015-2016 school year, the Home and School Association awarded and funded over $178,000 to Sewickley Academy. These funds have been used for the construction of the Makerspace/Innovation Lab, a $50,000 donation to the construction of the new Events Center, our Grants for Innovative Frameworks in Teaching (G.I.F.T.) program, as well as the many school events that we support including back-to-school faculty, staff, and maintenance luncheons, refreshments for back-to school-nights, Lower School Art Can Travel program, Lower School Field Day, faculty/staff holiday gifts, Issues and Education presentations, Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, Grade 5 and Grade 8 Commencements, Senior Graduation Dinner, and Graduation Tea.

Since it’s inception in 2012, the Home and School Association has contributed over $61,000 to the G.I.F.T. program. G.I.F.T. provides funding to teachers to help support unexpected projects, opportunities, or teaching strategies that are innovative and interdisciplinary in nature and student learning that goes above and beyond daily classroom practice and experience. In the 2015-2016 school year, G.I.F.T.  has enabled faculty to bring to campus the Pittsburgh CLO to present The Incredible Innovators of Pittsburgh, student travel to the August Wilson Center to attend TetrisPlus, a Middle School field trip to Cook Forest, a Middle School Unidentified Friday Opportunities trip, Little Lake Theatre’s presentation of Letters to Sala, the funding of Lower School mini-iPads, and an enhancement to our technical theater capabilities.

Our wonderful parent volunteers spend countless hours in the classrooms, libraries, and throughout campus to enhance the experience and education of the students and support the faculty of Sewickley Academy.
