I started at Sewickley in Grade 5, and have been involved heavily in sports while still balancing a tough academic load. I was honored to represent the Academy and win the PIAA AA Individual State Championship for golf, just the second time that’s ever happened in school history! I’m looking forward to competing in more golf tournaments next season.
Growing up, I always found school was a place that inspired my imagination, and where I felt challenged. I believe my job as a teacher is to challenge students in that same way, and Sewickley Academy has given me an incredible environment to push students creatively and help them to become better learners and people. Seeing one incredibly quiet ninth-grader become a regular discussion leader by Grade 12, for example, is something I absolutely cherish.

I transferred to Sewickley Academy in ninth grade, so I had a unique perspective of a childhood spent in different schools before coming to the Academy. Having a more rigorous, challenging educational path was very valuable to me, and pushed me to be the best I could be. I’m jealous of those who were able to spend their whole education at SA, but so thankful I made it there eventually!
