The 13th Annual Hansen Cup Memorial Golf Tournament was originally scheduled on September 17, 2018, when 57 golfers gathered for lunch on the terrace at Allegheny Country Club for what they hoped would be a day of golf with friends and colleagues. Due to the remnants of Hurricane Florence, the tournament had to be rescheduled. As a result, players were very gracious and reconvened at Allegheny for golf and dinner on an exceptionally warm and sunny fall day on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.

At 1:30 p.m. sharp, 14 teams teed off with a shotgun start. Golfers enjoyed 18-holes, which included a best ball or scramble format, based on a player’s choice. Afterwards, guests were welcomed back to the clubhouse to enjoy a buffet dinner, cocktails, and a silent auction.

During the evening program, Jeff Lenchner ’77 spoke about the importance of this event and how the funds raised help support our current students. He spoke briefly about his involvement with the founding of the event and his ties to the Hansen family, especially Gregg, and thanked everyone for their participation in this year’s outing. Then the 2018 Hansen Cup champions, contest winners, and silent auction winners were announced.

Congratulations to the 2018 Hansen Cup Champions!
